Amy Adams & Darren Le Gallo

Amy Adams needs no introduction: among American actresses, she is one of my favourites. She is so talented and charming.

For many years, Amy and actor, director and artist Darren Le Gallo are a gorgeous couple. The two met at an acting class in 2000 and then in 2010 they welcomed their beautiful baby girl who is named Aviana Olea, to honor the city of Aviano, near Pordenone. In fact, Amy’s father was a US soldier stationed at the Vicenza barracks, so Amy was born in Italy and she spent the first years of her childhood in Aviano.

The wedding with Darren was celebrated in 2015 in Los Angeles, but prior to that fabulous day, Darren started looking around for Amy’s perfect ring…

The designer behind Amy’s engagement ring is the fantastic Jean Dousset, a world-famous jeweler and great-great-great-nephew of the well-known Louis Cartier.

Jean said he received Darren Le Gallo when he was at the beginning of his career as a jeweler. A stylist referred to Jean about Darren, who was then welcomed into Jean’s former studio. Jean had actually transformed his dining room into an office, inside a historic building in Hancock Park, in Los Angeles.

Darren told Jean about his romance with Amy and about the fact that they had been together for many years now. Jean showed him his signature Seamless Halo design, which was quite new at the time and Darren liked it right away.

Indeed, Darren’s choice is easy to understand because this ring, apparently small if compared to the usual Hollywood big rocks, is a truly precious jewel, designed with a lot of attention to details.

It is a platinum band because – as per Jean’s suggestion – you can’t go wrong with platinum: it is a pure metal and never loses beauty despite time goes by.

A 1 carat round brilliant cut diamond is set as centre stone and it is surrounded by a diamond halo. The prongs are expertly hidden so that only the crown is visible from the top.

Jean Dousset has claimed he loves three dimensional jewels “because we don’t just look at our hands from one angle.” I totally agree! Therefore the Seamless Halo is full of details almost everywhere: in the lower part of the ring there are several rows of diamonds placed at 45 ° that join together in the innermost and underside part of the ring, where a secret colored gem is hidden. This gem was specially chosen by Darren because it has a particular significance for Amy. This little hidden detail is a feature of Jean Dousset’s rings that I personally adore: inserting a lucky stone, or a gemstone whose color reminds you of a special circumstance is truly fascinating and makes the jewel much more personal.

I believe Darren couldn’t have chosen a more appropriate ring for Amy: this elegant jewel suits very well the feminine and polished style that Amy choses for both her outfits and manicure.

Amy loves wearing it at every public event and usually accompanies it with delicate nail colors.

Interestingly, Amy owns as many as three wedding bands! The first one is made of yellow diamonds, the second of pink diamonds and the last one of colorless diamonds.

It is her habit to wear all three together with her engagement ring, creating a wonderful, delicate and super precious composition!
