I have loved this ring from the first moment I saw it! It is so delicate and graceful, a masterpiece of finesse for the gorgeous Emma, Oscar winner full of talent.
Emma and Dave Mc Cary announced their engagement to the world in December 2019, after that a press blackout followed: not only they have married out of the spotlight, but they have also welcomed their first baby.
The ring that started it all is the Kataoka Winter Pearl Ring model by Catbird, a New York jeweler known for its minimal and feminine style, much loved by celebrities such as Meghan Markle, Taylor Swift and Emma Watson.
The jewel, valued around $ 7,000, is composed of an 8 mm Akoya pearl instead of a more traditional diamond and is mounted on a finely filigreed yellow gold band studded with small “snowflake” motif diamonds. Really gorgeous for a winter engagement!
I totally agree with Ms. Silvia Grassi Damiani when she writes that: “(…) in nature nothing can be compared to the light radiated by pearls. Impalpable, delicate, intense, moony, magic, mysterious, warm”. (1)
I love the refinement of the design, the originality for preferring a pearl over a diamond and the courage to choose a jewel whose value is within (almost) everyone’s reach, snubbing the usual Hollywood clichés. And then I must say that the pearl goes beautifully with Emma’s complexion!
It’s a beautiful ring: grace, femininity and harmony in the character, nature and winter romance in the design and finally – great news – understatement in the price.
The final result of this match is: pearl 1 – diamond 0.
