These two really made us daydream …

It seems that Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt met in 1998 at a blind date organized by their two agents.

At the end of November 1999, during a concert, the couple went on stage and showed off the splendid engagement ring to the whole world, in front of the stunned Sting!

At that time, Brad had started a collaboration with the renowned Damiani jewelry house (do you remember the wonderful advertising campaign with the black and white photos?), which had its culmination in that spiral of emotions called “Promise”.

Jen and Brad got married on July 29, 2000, divorcing five years later. It seems that the two are on excellent terms and I want to add with extreme honesty that I am very, very happy for them.

And now let’s analyze the ring!

Together with Silvia Damiani, Brad designed a ring that seemed to represent a growing love, gently rising upwards and at the same time protecting its beating heart (it is no coincidence that bezel is the safest setting type).

The jewel is composed of a central round brilliant-cut diamond, surrounded by three platinum rounds of micro-pavé diamonds (could this be Pitt’s image of the trilogy: past, present, future?). These three platinum rounds rise upwards, as if to signify that his love for Jennifer grows and aspires to rise higher and higher.

Therefore the ring is arranged on several levels, wrapped in a protective spiral.

The diamond is positioned in the center, but in my opinion it is not the predominant figure. Here there is no predominant figure: in fact, the ring comes to life because the diamond and the spirals are inextricably linked, one cannot exist without the others and vice versa. The diamond and the three spirals share the scene together and on equal terms: Brad’s love is forever united with their past, with what they were, what made them meet and fall in love, and all these feelings will lead them towards a bright future together. What an extraordinary declaration of love!

Brad also contributed to the making of the wedding rings, the famous and much copied D-Side, co-designed by Damiani:
