Among all the top models who have entered history, in my opinion Kate is the one who most of all has experienced the downs of life feeding the public, then she has been rising so well that she is being requested even more than before. She continues to work for high fashion campaigns, she is attending fashion shows and appearing on the covers of magazines. Loved and beloved more than ever. All this affection for her became clear to me during the royal wedding of Prince William with Miss Catherine Middleton, when some posters appeared reading: “In London there is just one Kate”.
She has inspired a certain rebellious and rock lifestyle, yet always so feminine. Kate has revealed that she is a big fan of the most sought-after party girl of the 1920s, namely Zelda Fitzgerald, wife of writer Francis Scott Fitzgerald, who tragically passed away in 1948. I’ve read that experts are divided about the interpretation of Zelda’s and Francis’ relationship. Some argue that he was an unmatched writer, forced to indulge the whims of a spoiled wife, while others believe that she was the real genius from whose diaries Francis drew inspiration in order to write his novels, refusing to give her the deserved credit and thus stifling her talent. What is certain is that their relationship was full of exorbitant expenses, passion and unfortunately, it was also marked by her schizophrenia, for which Francis had to bear significant costs due to hospitalization.
After some vicissitude, around 2010 it seemed that Kate had finally found stability with the musician Jamie Hince.
It is said that when Kate got engaged to Jamie, he spent months searching for Zelda’s original engagement ring. He neither wanted nor could buy any ordinary antique ring for Kate, knowing so well how fascinated she was by the legendary figure of Zelda. Unfortunately, his search was unsuccessful, however it seems that Jamie found sketches and drawings of the ring allowing him to commission a faithful replica.
It is a wonderful ring where three well-defined lines of diamonds (set in ascending order) move together left and right to accompany upwards an oval-shaped diamond, set with 4 imperceptible prongs.
Like three moon rays, past-present-future, and body-spirit-soul, 3 becomes the perfect number to represent love. The three sinuous lines, like Kate’s sexy curves, caress the finger and sway without empty spaces, without unspoken words, following desires and passions, finally bringing true Love into triumph.
In 2011 Kate and Jamie got married. Kate was wonderful: she wore an unforgettable dress designed by her friend John Galliano, who wisely mixed the style of the roaring 1920’s and ’30s, she had her little Lila Grace by the hand and, of course, she wore the engagement ring at the ring finger.
Unfortunately, after four years only, Kate and Jamie split and the tiny jewellery masterpiece we have so much admired, is now only a copy of Zelda’s ring.
